27 weeks!

I'm entering my 3rd trimester this week!! Baby got his first hiccups in my tummy this morning! I have been waiting to feel hiccups. This morning after eating breakfast, we got back in bed and baby had the hiccups for about 2-3 minutes. It was so cute and such a neat feeling. Ricky got to feel the hiccups too! The baby must have been wondering what was going on because he started wiggling and kicking up a storm while he was hiccuping. We have decided on a Baby Shower date! February 20th, 2010 at 2 pm. Mom is sending out the invites this week. Other than that- I am still feeling well! Haha I just read down below and saw that hiccups generally start around this week-aren't I right on track LOL

How our baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
