6 months!!

Well I made it to 6 months! I'm thrilled. I love counting down the months even though I am enjoying being pregnant. I think I had a contraction today. Either that or a bad muscle cramp in my tummy. Rick and I were laying in bed this morning and I stretched and then I felt my tummy get uncomfortable and hard as I layed on my side. I tried to roll over onto my back and I couldn't because it hurt too bad to move. The pain was at the very bottom of my prego belly. I woke Rick up quick to push me up because I couldn't get up. It just felt like a tearing kind of pain. Not like a period cramp and not like gas. It lasted about 30-40 seconds and faded away. I have no clue what it was, but I was worried it would happen again so I just layed around today. I didn't like it whatever it was.

I don't feel like I am growing much right now, but I may just be getting used to my belly. Baby should be near or over 1 lb and half and about 12-13 inches long. My next doctor's appointments are Dec 28th with new OB (Dr. Garner) and Dec 30th with Dr. Herzog, my current doc. I have Breastfeeding class with Ricky Jan 4th, I have Maternity photo shoot Feb 6th, Superbowl with the Colts hopefully is Feb 7th and our Lamaze class is Feb 12th and 13th. If for some reason the doctor decides to schedule surgery instead of letting me labor, we will switch the Lamaze class for the C-Section class and tour. Thats a loaded month geez.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
